You can wear turtlenecks pretty much all year, but if you’re on the east coast or in the south in the US, you probably want to pack them away for summer. In general, turtlenecks are always in style. You see them everywhere when it comes to fashion, including runways and on social media. They may cycle through being on trend, but they never leave a classic wardrobe.

If you wear a normal, long sleeve turtleneck under a jacket, just make sure it’s not an oversized fit turtleneck. And, make sure the jacket or blazer isn’t too fitted, especially in the sleeves. This will help avoid feeling bulky. It’s helpful just to try them on together, honestly. Merino wool pieces typically have a closer fit than cotton and even some cashmere, but it really depends on the turtleneck.
Styling a turtleneck for work
This is an easy way to get dressed for work when it’s cold. Any style of turtleneck, whether it’s an oversized turtleneck sweater or a sleeveless turtleneck you’re wearing under a blazer, works for the office. I love how an oversized turtleneck sweater looks with a slip skirt. You can wear the turtleneck untucked – it’s comfortable and chic.

As far as outfit formulas go, this is an easy one. I just took a neutral turtleneck and paired it with a fun skirt. I layered with this suede jacket, which works perfectly for fall and spring. This outfit will also look super cute with knee high boots. I love how the brown accessories are all slightly different colors but work together seamlessly.
