Suede boots are an elegant addition to your shoe collection. They’re seriously an MVP in my closet every single year. I love how there are so many ways to style them, whether you want to wear them in the fall, winter, or spring. They look just as good with flowy skirts as they do your traditional winter looks that rely more on denim.

Plus, since suede has become so popular, a lot of brands make water repellent suede boots. So, you don’t have to worry about whether or not you can wear them without ruining them. This is always one of the most popular questions I get about suede shoes in general, but I’ve never had any issues with my suede boots.
10 Outfits With Suede Boots I Think You’ll Love
Like any other boots, there are a lot of different styles of suede boots, from knee high boots to boots with a pointed toe. I own a few styles of suede boots myself and wear them all.
First, here are some suede boots I love in different styles.
What To Wear Suede Boots With And How to Style Them Together
Denim
Jeans are one of the most obvious things to wear with your suede boots because they look good with almost every style of boot. For chunky boots, I prefer straight leg jeans and skinny jeans. The tailored style helps balance out the heavier shoe. But, pointed toe suede boots, a block heel, or a stiletto heel (including kitten heels) will go with just about any style of denim!
Dresses
There’s just something so chic about a dress with boots. You will also get a lot of use out of this type of look because you can wear it in the fall, winter, and spring. Ankle boots work with maxi dresses, but other than that, I love to style my dresses with knee high suede boots.
Midi Skirts and Maxi Skirts
I have the same feeling about suede boots with midi skirts and maxi skirts as I do about wearing them with a dress – they’re just gorgeous together. When you wear a dress or skirt with boots, just make sure your boots come up past your hemline so there isn’t an awkward space between the top of your shoe and the bottom of your skirt or dress. It will shorten you and will break up the flow of your outfit.
Work Outfits With Suede Boots
Suede boots are the perfect way to add your own unique personal style to a work outfit, especially if you work somewhere with a formal dress code. I’ve always loved to use shoes and accessories to personalize an outfit when you’re wearing a suit. For example, a pair of fun suede boots with a tailored work suit is so chic! There’s an outfit idea below for this!
How to Style Suede Boots in Transitional Seasons
Suede boots can be a key part of your transitional wardrobe because of how versatile they are.
How to style suede boots in the spring
In the spring, suede boots pair well with dresses, midi skirts, jeans, and light jackets. Trench coats, denim jackets, and linen-blend jackets all work! Likewise, I love to wear a linen midi or maxi skirt with suede boots and a sweater in the spring.
How to style suede boots when it’s cold
Suede boots were made for the cold! You can wear them under your jeans with cozy socks to keep you warm and still look very stylish! Knee high suede boots or over the knee boots look super chic with dresses and skirts too.
Suede Boots Outfits
Cozy fall outfits feel like they’re defined by earthy tones, jeans, and knitwear. Spring always makes me think of pieces we find in our transitional wardrobes like flowy dresses, leather jackets, light neutrals, and yes, still jeans and sweaters. What goes with all of these? Suede boots!
How to wear suede boots with jeans for a Christmas tree farm visit
When I was child, we went to a huge Christmas tree farm every year in rural Virginia. It was honestly like something you’d watch on Hallmark these days. We would run around the rolling hills of Christmas trees playing tag while searching for the perfect tree. The best years were when a light snow was on the ground or when it was even snowing while we were there. We would finish our trip at the farm’s hot chocolate stand while my mom picked out wreaths.

Now that I’m a mom myself, this is what I wear to our little city Christmas tree stand. But, if I were heading to the farm, this is probably what I’d wear anyway. You can add a heavier jacket, but the point is this style of boot looks cute under straight leg jeans, and they’re also practical. You can shop my jeans here. My exact boots are super old, but there are so many pairs that look nearly identical.
Suede boots tucked into jeans
If you wear skinny jeans or straight leg jeans, you can easily tuck them into your suede Chelsea boots. This is a super laidback outfit. You can also style this with a leather jacket, a sweater under the jacket, and black jeans for an edgier look.

Block Heel Suede Boots Styled With Jeans
These gorgeous chocolate brown boots aren’t actually heavy – I walked all over Boston in them the first day I wore them, but I think they look a little heavy because of the block heel. Now that I’m thinking about it, the part that makes them look heavy is actually the reason they’re so comfortable, ha.
I love to style them with tailored pieces, such as a button up or straight leg jeans, or other pieces that don’t feel bulky. They’d look nice with a skirt too! I love the idea of wearing these with a pleated mini skirt or a flowy maxi skirt. The pointed toe is so flattering and always makes my legs look longer.

If you want a super close up look at them, click here for a video I put together.
How to style a unique camel bootie
If you like to wear navy, cream, beige, tan, camel, or other similar colors, you’ll get a ton of use from this color of boots. Basically, light neutrals work well with them! Click here for a nearly identical pair by the same brand I’m wearing, and they’re water resistant. These are perfect to wear under jeans or work pants.

How to style over the knee suede boots and knee high suede boots with a skirt
I am super pregnant in this photo, but this is an outfit you can wear whether you’re pregnant or not! Knee high suede boots or over the knee suede boots are perfect to wear with a skirt or dress. I am always a fan of tonal and monochrome outfits, and this one just feels like the epitome of autumn.

My boots are really old from Stuart Weitzman, so I linked a similar pair and then a knee high pair.
Suede boots and a puffer jacket
Sometimes, the bulk of winter dressing can feel super frumpy. But, it doesn’t have to be! Suede boots will add an instant level of elegance to your winter looks even if you’re wearing a puffer jacket.

My boots are old from Vince, but these are similar.
Edgy suede boots for work
These suede boots add the perfect amount of spice to your outfit. I would wear these to work with tailored trousers or even a suit, whether you go for the brown suede or the black leather.
Edgy suede boots for the weekend
Of course, they also work with jeans for the weekend! You can wear these with anything ranging from a flowy blouse to a sweater or a blazer. One of my favorite parts of fall fashion is you don’t always need a coat!
Suede boots with shearling lining for cold days
I’m obsessed with this pair of shearling lined boots, and they’re currently sitting in my cart. I’ve seen them in person twice and tried them on once, and I can tell you these are so comfortable! I love that they’re water resistant too, so they’re very practical.
