Hello, hello! How are you? I’ve been busy with my little babe, and we’ve also been spending some time with family, which has been wonderful. It’s baby nap time, so I sat down to write this post. Summer temperatures are here, and when it comes to clothes, nothing says summer better than stripes! Of course, I love to wear stripes all year, so this post will include what to wear with a striped top in the colder months too.

I love how stripes elevate any look. Plus, they’re a classic pattern, so they’ll never go out of style.
There are so many different takes on stripes. They’re actually quite versatile! Stripes can be casual, work appropriate, or a top you’d wear out on a date. They also work across every season: I love a linen stripe t-shirt as much as a long sleeve striped shirt or a striped sweater. Stripes might seem hard to style since they can feel vibrant, but they will work with a lot of what you already own. Today, I’m sharing a roundup of items that go well with striped tops to achieve different looks, as well as stripe outfits I wear that you can shop or recreate from your own closet!
What to Wear With A Striped Top
Okay, let’s get into it! These are a few things I love to wear with a striped top, whether a long sleeve stripe tee, a stripe button up, a short sleeve linen top, or, okay, I think you get the point. The full outfits are below.
Midi Skirt, Maxi Skirt, Mini Skirt
There is a style and cut of skirt that will go with stripe tops throughout all different seasons. In the summer, a flowy linen midi skirt with a striped tee is effortless and chic. In the winter, style a maxi skirt with boots and your favorite striped sweater. If you prefer a mini skirt, pair them with tights and your striped sweater! I also love a mini skirt in the warm weather with a striped tee. The options are endless – it just depends on the season and where you’re going!
This striped top and skirt is such a gorgeous matching set that I had to share it. I really wanted to get it for a wedding I went to in the late spring, but the weather was too cold so I had to pass. Dainty Jewelry
Dainty jewelry pieces are easy to style and won’t feel overwhelming when you’re already wearing a bold print like stripes. I recently bought this necklace, which is super lightweight and perfect for your summer outfits. All Styles Of Denim
Jeans are an obvious option to wear with a stripe top, but I had to include them because they’re so easy to style and I wear jeans all the time. If you’re wearing a fitted stripe top, wide leg jeans are a great option to balance your outfit. In the winter, when you’re wearing bulkier sweaters, straight leg jeans will do the same thing.
In the spring and summer, a striped top with tan, ecru, or white jeans will make an outfit look like it’s meant for warm weather. But, your regular blue denim also looks chic with stripes in the warm weather. I’ve been wearing these summer weight jeans nonstop since I bought them. Or, you can wear jean shorts! In the fall or winter, stripes are fun to pair with gray, black or blue denim – but I wear these colors when it’s warm outside too!
Loafers
Loafers are perfect for a casual outfit with a stripe top – like a long sleeve tee. Or, you can wear them with a work outfit. These are a few of my favorite pairs. I own the first two!
Linen Bottoms
If you also live in a place where the humidity gets out of control, linen is your best friend during the summer! Any kind of striped summer top, like a tank top, short sleeve shirt, or a tube top looks nice with linen pants or linen shorts. I love how linen automatically gives your look an effortless vibe, which is even more important on hot summer days.
White Jeans
White jeans or off white jeans like ecru are the perfect summer option for stripes. I can’t think of any outfit that feels more like summer than white and stripes!
Summer Flats, Ballet Flats, and Leather Sandals
I mostly wear shoes that have a super low heel, so ballet flats have always been a go-to shoe for me. They are such a timeless, classic shoe that will pair nicely with a timeless pattern like stripes. So, you never have to worry about either of them going out of style.

Striped Tube Top And Linen Pants

Striped Tube Top With Summer Jeans
This is another summer outfit that you can easily turn into a spring or early fall look by wearing a button up over the tube top. These jeans are made to wear during the summer, so they’re called featherweight jeans. And, they live up to their name! These are incredibly soft and I’ve never been hot from wearing them – even in the 90 degree heat!
French Girl Style In Stripes
The effortless, cool girl vibe of French girl style is super in right now, but I don’t think it’s ever going out of style (and I hope it doesn’t). This blue and white stripe long sleeve button up is so versatile. It’s one of my favorite striped shirts, and I wear it all the time. It can be styled for spring, summer, and fall with a white linen skirt or with jeans once it cools down. You could also wear the striped top open with a white tank top under it. Any of those outfits would be cute with loafers or woven leather flats!
Long Sleeve Linen Button Up With Trousers
If you’re looking for an alternative to jeans, give a pair of linen or cotton trousers a try – I love how this shirt looks with olive green. You can wear this type of outfit for three seasons in a lot of places, and you can also style it with loafers if the weather is too crisp for sandals.
A Stripe Blazer For Work That You Can Wear On The Weekend Too
This stripe blazer will instantly elevate anything you’re wearing, and it goes with so much. It is easily one of the most worn pieces in my closet. This outfit is so easy to throw on and feel chic! I wear this type of look often, so I had to include it. Stripe lady jacket cardigans continue to be popular for all seasons. I love this look with denim for spring, but I also love it with black linen trousers and espadrilles once it starts to get slightly warmer. Plus, both of these outfits are work appropriate for different types of dress codes!
