Formal and casual, ballet flat and slingbacks, velvet or leather, or Mary Janes and loafers. You can wear just about any type of flat shoes with jeans, which is why they’re so good to have in your closet.

Yes, and they always will be! Flat shoes with jeans are a classic.
What are the Best Flat Shoes to Wear With Jeans
Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are very on-trend, but thankfully a shoe that is always in style! There are so many ways to style ballet flats with jeans, and they truly go with all styles of denim. Whether you prefer barrel jeans, straight leg jeans, or wide leg jeans, ballet flats will look good with them, and they’ll add a touch of elegance to your outfit.

Mary Janes
Mary Janes and ballet flats always have a similar vibe. But, there are a lot of edgier Mary Janes options out there right now, which I think are really fun. Likewise, you can’t go wrong with a classic pair like what I’m wearing here. These flats are a great price point, they come in lots of colors, and they’ve held up so well!

Loafers
Speaking of edge, loafers are a go-to shoe to add edge to your outfit. They always look so good with jeans. It’s another classic combination. Be sure to wear your loafers throughout the winter with cozy socks!

Mules
While mules have been around forever, I’ve only recently gotten into wearing them more and more. I’m not sure why it took me so long! I absolutely love how they look with jeans. They also come in so many different styles, so you can add a lot of unique style to your outfit with them. The pair I’m wearing below have a slight heel, but I’m including them to show you how chic mules and jeans look together! I honestly count these as flats myself because they aren’t high heeled. You can shop my shoes here.

Slingbacks
Slingbacks are an obvious shoe for summer, spring, and even fall. But, they’re also so cute with sock tights or socks during the winter, especially if your slingbacks are metallic or black.

How to Wear Flats with Jeans
Style Ballet Flats With Any Type of Jeans
Ballet flats and jeans is such an easy, classic pairing. Whether you prefer wide leg jeans or straight leg jeans, it always looks good. For some reason, throwing on jeans with a pair of flats you can just slip your foot into is so effortless. It’s a win-win.

A grey suede ballet flat is perfect for fall and spring. It’s a neutral you can wear with grey, navy, cream, black, and even brown. You can wear any style of jeans with ballet flats.
Metallic Mary Janes With Jeans When It’s Cold
My top tip for styling loafers, Mary Janes, ballet flats, or any other type of flat shoes in the winter is to wear them with sock tights, socks, or even tights. Not only is this look considered on-trend, it’s just such a chic way to wear flats and get way more wear out of your shoes. Metallic flat shoes like the pair I’m wearing below are a festive option for the holiday season and throughout the winter. I’m not wearing the sock tights with my jeans in the photo below, so I included a photo of how they look. These are what I’m wearing below, and they’re my go to sock tights.

Plain Mary Janes Or Mary Janes With A Fun Print
I recently picked up this pair of fun Mary Janes to wear with my jeans this fall and again in the spring. I love how these will add a unique touch to any denim outfit! They also come in flat mules. I wasn’t sure which pair to get, but I went with the Mary Janes. I think they’ll look really cute with white or cream jeans too. If you’re wondering what goes with white pants, check out my blog post on how to style them.
Loafers And Straight Leg Jeans
Loafers are a shoe that you will wear even more than you think. I turn to them all the time. They’re perfect to dress up your casual Friday work outfit and they’re cute enough to wear to happy hour.

Loafers look nice with all styles of denim. I do think they look the best with straight leg jeans on people who are petite in height or petite in general. If you’re taller, loafers look good with wide leg jeans in addition to straight leg jeans. But, don’t get me wrong, I still wear my loafers with wide leg jeans too, especially this pair because it has an almond shape toe. It’s always worth experimenting which shoes make you feel the best with different styles of denim.
Seasonal slingbacks and wide leg jeans
Slingbacks with a pointed toe or almond shape toe pair perfectly with wide leg jeans or straight leg jeans, and they help make your legs look longer. If you live in a city, slingbacks are a great alternative to sandals because they give your feet more protection when you’re walking around.

Basically, I feel like jeans and any pair of flats give a chic, effortless vibe. They’re polished enough to wear to work, but you’ll still want to wear them on the weekend. So, they’re incredibly versatile. If you’re looking for more casual chic outfit ideas, check out this blog post! Thanks for stopping by today!
