Did your style focus shift after having a baby, or even totally change? For me, putting outfits together as a mom sometimes feels a little different than it did before having a little one. But, it’s not a negative thing! I’ve embraced discovering new style and outfit preferences with new responsibilities. It has really made me focus on what works in my closet and what doesn’t! On days when there is just a lot going on – whether that’s a big day at work or just a busy weekend – it’s nice to know your closet is full of clothes that work for you.

10 Cute Mom Outfits
Okay, when I say mom outfits, I mean outfit ideas that are practical but still look good! I spend plenty of time in sweatpants at home, but these are outfits perfect for when you’re heading out of the house.
White Linen Skirt And Striped Linen Shirt
This outfit is perfect for the busy mom on the go because it works for work, it’s long enough to chase your toddler around in, and everything is super soft. If you’re heading to the office, I’d probably fully tuck in my shirt but that’s the only change I’d make. I love this belt with sun medallions on it to add a little bit of fun to it! I’m wearing a small in the belt and I’m a 28 waist, so I’d say it runs a little bit big.

Spring or Fall Blazer With Jeans
A blazer that you love will go a long way in your closet. It can disguise a pair of jeans and a t-shirt – or other simple outfits – as something really polished. I always feel so confident when I wear this blazer, for example. It’s easily one you can wear casually like I am below or over a dress for work. It fits slightly oversized, but I still love how it looks with these wide leg jeans because both pieces are very tailored.

Blazer With Linen Skirt
I dressed up this blazer with a linen skirt for a special outing with my family! Both the skirt and the blazer are easy to style with casual pieces or dressier options. I love how they look with a t-shirt or a blouse. I’m wearing a linen t-shirt here with ballet flats and a raffia bag to bring a springtime feel to my look even though it was super windy that day!

Another option for a blazer and skirt outfit when it’s cold is a black maxi skirt and a wool blazer. I love this skirt because it comes in different lengths and this blazer. I own both, and they look really nice together! You can also read more about how to style a black maxi skirt in this blog post.
Comfortable Lounge Pants You Can Wear Out Too
There’s nothing better than the perfect pair of jeans – except these pants. These 100 percent cotton pants are a total dream because you can wear them to so many places, whether you’re running errands, traveling, or getting coffee with a friend. They’re basically perfect for a busy mom uniform because you can wear them with loafers or sandals and look super polished, or you can wear them around the house. I love how they give a cool mom vibe.
I also wear these pants in warm weather because they’re breathable and slightly flowy. I’m wearing size medium.

Practical Denim Shorts And Button Up
If you’re looking for denim shorts you can actually wear with your kids, this is the pair! They’re practical, comfortable, and still look cute! I love how longer shorts are making a comeback when it comes to trends, but this is a great example of something I’d wear anyway because it works for me. I sized down one size. Suede Jacket You Can Wear With Anything
A suede jacket is a chic outerwear option that you can wear through different seasons (depending on where you live). Here on the east coast, this jacket works in the spring, fall, and winter. I love how you can style it with slingbacks or winter boots or loafers – it’s just so versatile. You can wear it literally anywhere – from work to date night to errands to travel. I’m wearing a medium in the green and a small in the camel. Small would be true to size, but I love the relaxed fit of the medium! I also own this jacket in denim and a khaki cotton option. They’re all versatile and super comfortable.

Reliable Button Up Outfits
A classic white button up is a closet staple. Whether you’re a stay at home mom or heading to the office, this top is mom approved. There are so many outfit ideas that you can put together with just this top. It will make getting dressed so easy on days where you hate everything. This shirt goes with jeans, skirts, linen pants, over a casual dress or under a work dress, so you don’t have to overthink your outfit.

I prefer an oversized button up right now (this is the one I’m wearing), but I always kept a classic white button up in my closet when I was going to the office every day.
Button Up Over A Dress
Here is a go-to summer outfit that is so easy to recreate. I just wear a midi dress with an oversized button up over it, and I always feel chic but so comfortable. This outfit works for weekends around your own town but it’s also a great option for vacation. I’m wearing the same button up as above.

My exact dress is old from J.Crew, but I linked my exact shirt, bag, and shoes, as well as some summer dresses I think are cute. I just bought the first one and love it.
Linen Pants Of Dreams
Linen pants are so easy to throw on and go, whether you’re heading to a playdate, brunch with friends, or traveling like I was. I wore this outfit for an entire day on Nantucket, including the ferry ride to and from the island, grabbing a coffee, walking around the shops, and out for lunch! I steamed these pants to perfection before we left, but this is just what linen does throughout a busy day! I love how you can style these pants with casual mesh flats like I did or wear them with slingbacks for a little bit of a dressier look.

I’m wearing the regular length size small in these pants, and I’m a 28 waist. I also linked a few pairs of shoes and accessories I love with this look! My exact shoes are sold out. I recently tried this pair of woven leather flats and plan to purchase them. They are insanely comfortable. They’d be really cute with these pants!
Corduroy Pants To Wear Instead Of Jeans
Corduroy pants are a nice alternative to wearing jeans. They definitely still feel casual, but they also work for a lot of offices and the weekend. If you want more corduroy pants outfits, check out this blog post!

How To Make Your Outfits Look Cute As A Mom
It Doesn’t Have To Be Complicated
Do you ever overthink your outfit? I know I do! But, you don’t have to wear a complicated outfit or think too much about what you’re wearing to look cute. There’s nothing more chic than a good pair of jeans, comfortable top, and simple jewelry. I recently picked up this necklace and love layering it with my other everyday necklace. Pick Pieces You’re Comfortable In
Choosing clothes you feel comfortable in will make getting dressed so much easier because your closet will be full of things you want to wear and less about having a bunch of pieces that looked cute online. Whenever I see something that I want to buy, I think about when I would wear it, how often I can wear it, and what’s already in my closet that works with it?
